MP 2022 – David Mwalika Mboni

🔗 Source note

The Standard ("David Mwalika of Wiper beats UDA candidate to retain Kitui Rural MP seat"), Daily Nation ("Kalonzo Musyoka cements grip on Ukambani..."), and The Star ("I owe my win to Kalonzo, says Kitui MP-elect") all independently agree: Mwalika (Wiper) 19,745 votes, Nyamai (UDA) 10,178 - a two-candidate race, Nyamai being Mwalika's only challenger (both sources explicitly describe it that way, so there is no missing 3rd/4th place here, unlike most other races on this site). 30,089 of 55,000 registered voters cast a ballot (54.71% turnout, per The Standard), with 166 rejected votes. Mwalika previously won this seat in 2017 on a Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) ticket - this is a party change, not an error carried over from the 2017 record above.
